As last stop in Kansas we visited the Rotary Club Derby on Friday noon. Eric, president of the club, was very quick to answer our request to join the meeting and invited us warmly. The club meets at the public library and was well visited. We were greeted like old friends and enjoyed the meeting immensely.

As Eric gave us the possibility to speak for a few minutes, I put on my Rotary “Superhero Cape” and went to stage. That surly gave us some attention ?! The Cape was a present of Dean Kennedy from Winfield who got it, as a district governor, from the Derby Rotary Club. What fun to wear it (and, I guess, it was also fun to watch me wear it). Thanks Dean for this moment of joy you brought us and the club! After our short presentation – thanks dear members for the generous donations! – we got to learn about the program of the upcoming Riverfest in Wichita. Too bad, that we are going to miss out on the festival, it sounded like a lot of fun!

But of we go, on our way to the next adventures. Keep posted by subscribing to our blog on www.hiking4haiti.com as already members of the Rotary Club Derby did.
